Yellowstone paid a touching tribute to Wilford Brigley, who died on August 1, 2020, at 85 years old.

Wilford Brimley, an actor, singer, and veteran of the US Marine Corps, is not well-known.
Brimley was born September 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the tender age of 19, Brimley signed up for the US Marine Corps. He fought in Korea War 1953-56.
Wilford Brimley began acting in 1960s as an extra in Western films.

His mother was half Danish, with English, German and Swiss ancestry. He dropped out of highschool at 14 to become an actor. He worked as a cowboy in Arizona and Idaho.
Brimley enlisted in the Marines at the Korean War. He served three years in the Aleutian Islands.
As well as being a ranchhand, wrangler and blacksmith, he also served as a bodyguard to businessman Howard Hughes. He began shoeing horses to film and television.
He began acting as a riding extra in the 1960s and as an stuntman in westerns. He told the Los Angeles Times in 1979 that $20,000 was the highest amount he had ever earned as an actor.
He did not have any formal training in acting and his first exposure to performing in front of an audience was with a theater group at Los Angeles Actors’ Theater.
