read Richard reeves "President Nixon" for a VERY serious, very exhaustive coverage of Nixon's presidential years.. it starts with his inauguration as president.. don't believe the anti-Nixon speeling and rambling in the book...  the book is DEFINITELY VERY pro-Nixon.. read if you can find it the chapter on Nixon at the Lincoln Washington memorial talking to the young students about the kent state massacre..
