Christopher was a test pilot for the air force, and was flying a private plane with his family on board when the plane was attacked by a spaceship from the Shi'ar Empire. There was only one parachute, so Katherine strapped it to Alex and Scott before pushing them out of the plane. Both boys survived the crash, but Scott suffered a serious head injury upon landing. Taken into care with the belief that their parents dead, Scott and Alex were separated. Alex was adopted by the Blanding family who had recently lost their son. Todd Blanding had been killed in a car crash. His new parents tried to make Alex the same as Todd, and Alex tried his hardest to please them. When the boy who caused Todd's death attacked Alex, Alex's mutant powers surfaced. However, raging out of control, his plasma blasts accidentally incinerated the boy. No one was aware that Mr. Sinister had been monitoring Alex ever since he had been adopted. He then placed genetic locks on Alex to stop him from developing his mutant powers again. As a side effect of the blocks, Alex also forgot what had happened and how he had killed a boy. Creation Havok was created by Arnold Drake and Don Heck and first appeared in The X-Men #54 (1969). Major Story Arcs Reunited Alex remained unaware of his mutant powers until he graduated from college. Unknown to Alex, his professor of archeology named Ahmet Abdol was also a mutant. Professor Abdol had discovered a psychic link between himself and Alex. While both of them had the latent mutant power to absorb and transform cosmic radiation, Abdol's ability to exercise the power was jammed in an unknown manner by Alex' body. Abdol called himself the Living Pharaoh and kidnapped his student, taking Alex to his laboratory. Abdol found a way to screen the ambient cosmic radiation from Alex' body, permitting the Living Pharaoh to attain his latent potential. The bombardment of energies transformed Abdol into the Living Monolith, a gigantic mutant with vast cosmic power. Alex's mutant powers resurfaced under the strain of Abdol's technology. The activation of his mutant powers signaled to Professor Charles Xavier. The Monolith was defeated while in combat with the X-Men and Alex was reunited with his older brother; the X-Men's field leader, Cyclops. X-Men X-Men Although he had finally been reunited with his long-lost brother, Alex was still incapable of controlling the shock waves his body emanated. Therefore, he chose to remain in the Egyptian desert rather than accompany the X-Men back to their headquarters in upstate New York. However, Alex was soon captured by a mutant-hunting robotic Sentinel and taken to the headquarters of Larry Trask. Trask gave Summers the codename "Havok" and a costume with a display on the chest which monitored the build-up of cosmic energy within him. When the X-Men finally freed Trask's captive mutants, Havok finally accompanied his brother and his teammates back to civilization where the X-Men began training Alex to help him keep his energy in check. Eventually, Havok gained enough mastery over his power that he would release it only when he wished to do so, and could wield his power skillfully enough to become a formidable opponent in battle. While with the X-Men, Havok fell in love with Lorna Dane, the mutant known as Polaris. They both served for a time in the X-Men helping to repel the invasion by the alien Z'Nox. Neither Havok nor Polaris wished to lead a life as an adventurer, but they discovered that they had a mutual interest in geophysics. Hence, Havok and Polaris began their graduate studies in geophysics in the American West. Shortly after the X-Men's disastrous mission to Krakoa, Havok and Polaris felt that they were no longer needed in the X-Men and left to return to school in order to complete their degrees. Marauders Their plans to lead quiet lives did not last long. While researching in the desert, Havok and Polaris found themselves hunted by the Marauders. Polaris fell under the mental control of Malice, who became trapped within Polaris' body. The evil Polaris, took command of the Marauders. Separated from the love of his life, Havok ran back to the city. Searching for help, he was forced to track down the X-Men who were no longer operating out of the Xavier School. The team had radically changed in roster & attitude, so when they caught Havok on their trail they threatened to kill him. Psylocke was able to telepathically scan Havok & vouch for his intentions. Although he didn't agree with the way that the X-Men operated, he had no other options. They were the only ones who could help him locate Polaris. Havok rejoined the new X-Men. They soon began to operate out of a deserted outback headquarters base in Australia, the formerly belonged to the Reavers. There, they could monitor the world's news broadcasts and emergency services' frequencies via the Reavers' abandoned technology, while the silent aboriginal mutant known as Gateway would teleport them around the world. On one occasion, the X-Men were sent to San Francisco to rescue a woman who was being hunted by the Marauders. The X-Men saved Madelyne Pryor from the Marauders, while Havok was forced to battle Polaris. During the fight, Malice temporarily lost her control over Polaris. Seeing that she was being controlled by a malicious psychic entity, Havok summoned up the strength to attack her and scare her away. Inferno No Caption Provided The confusion of fighting his girlfriend and seeing her possessed weighted on Havok's mind. He was also angry at Cyclops for abandoning Madelyne and their baby son. As her brother-in-law, Havok began to spend a lot of time with Madelyne. She joined the X-Men in a passive role, where she would monitor the emergency broadcasts from around the world, and hoped to find sign of her missing baby. However, Madelyne had already made a deal with the demon N'Astirh. She began to develop powers and she slowly became corrupted. Although he knew it was wrong, Havok entered into a sexual relationship with his brother's wife at her instigation. During the Inferno Madelyne became the Goblin Queen and Havok agreed to be her consort, the Goblin Prince. Thanks to the combined efforts of X-Factor and the X-Men, Marvel Girl managed to defeat her clone and order was restored after the Inferno. Despite his shameful affair with his brother's wife and turning against his teammates, Havok remained with the X-Men. The Siege Perilous After Polaris was freed from Malice, she called the X-Men for help. However, before they could reach her, she was captured by Zaladane. With the X-Men facing attack from the Reavers, their resident telepath Psylocke used her powers to force any resistant X-Men to walk through the Siege Perilous rather than die at the hands of the Reavers. What exactly happened to the mutants who traveled through the Siege Perilous is unclear. However those X-Men who braved it survived albeit altered in some ways. Havok re-emerged in Genosha, an island nation which turned any mutant citizens into mutate slaves. Having lost the memories of his true identity and life with the X-Men, Havok began a new life. He offered his powers and skills to the government, so instead of being transformed into a mutate he became a mutant Magistrate. As "Magistrate Summers" he had to work harder than the human Magistrates, and entered into a controversial mutant-human relationship with Magistrate Tam. The X-Tinction Agenda Havok vs. Cyclops Havok vs. Cyclops Magistrate Summers led a team of Genoshans to Xavier's School for the Gifted, where they ambushed a group of New Mutants. Boom-Boom was about to blast him from behind with one of her time-bombs, but Storm recognized Havok's plasma signature and used a gust of wind to blow the bomb away. Unfortunately this meant that Boom-Boom, Rictor, Warlock, Wolfsbane and the de-aged Storm were kidnapped, stripped of their powers and clothes and imprisoned in Genosha. This lead to Cable and the New Mutants, X-Factor and the X-Men joining forces and invading Genosha on a rescue mission. As they made their way across the Genoshan shores on foot, the mutant teams soon came under attack. Almost immediately they recognized Havok, even though he didn't recognize them. Cyclops singled his brother out, and Magistrate Summers was surprised that his mutant powers had no effect on Cyclops. Since they couldn't attack each other with their powers, Cyclops and Magistrate Summer resorted to a physical brawl, which Cyclops won. Although the Magistrates retreated, Magistrate Summers was wary that he would be accused of siding with the mutants. Therefore he strived to be more alert and loyal to Genosha than any of the others. He even gave away Wolverine and Psylocke's true identities when they were disguised as Magistrates. However, as Cameron Hodge's X-Tinction Agenda was unraveled, Magistrate Summers began to question the validity of the government he was fighting for. When he fought Cyclops for a second time, Cyclops grappled him and forced him to recall the memories of them falling as children. With Havok's memories were restored and he began to fight alongside his fellow X-Men to depose Cameron Hodge. When they were successful, he declined the chance to return to the United States, and remained in Genosha to rebuild a new society. X-Factor No Caption Provided A few months later, Havok was convinced to return to America by Val Cooper, who wanted to establish a new X-Factor; a mutant team with government backing. He was accompanied by Wolfsbane (who had also remained in Genosha), and they joined Multiple Man, Quicksilver, Strong Guy and Polaris. Havok and Polaris struggled to understand their relationship, as they were no longer a couple but still attracted to each other. Yet they had both been manipulated and forced to fight against their friends. Havok also had to cope with Wolfsbane's increasing aggressive sexual attraction to him. it transpired that when she underwent the mutate procedure in Genosha, she had been mentally bonded to Havok as his intended servant. However, while trapped in her transitional human-lupine form she grew more ferocious and animalistic in nature and as a side effect of the the bonding she developed unrequited feelings for him. Despite the awkward feelings, Havok and Polaris gradually entered into a relationship again. On a secluded and romantic getaway, they came under attack from Mr. Sinister, his Nasty Boys, and Malice. When Malice tried to take possession of Polaris, Havok tried to take Malice into his body instead. While caught between Polaris and Havok, Malice was trapped without a body to inhabit and killed by Mr. Sinister. Havok continued to serve with X-Factor until he felt that there were too many people in his life that had been controlling him. He was also deeply affected by the apparent death of Multiple Man, who had contracted the Legacy Virus while trying to perform CPR on a dying Genoshan mutate. The Brotherhood Disillusioned with both the X-Men and X-Factor (and once again having problems controlling his powers), Havok associated himself with the Dark Beast. Together they founded a team of mutant terrorists known simply as the Brotherhood. During his time as leader of the Brotherhood, Alex came to blows with former allies and friends alike. Temporarily captured by X-Factor, Havok freed himself and coldly attacked both Random and Polaris. During another attack orchestrated by Havok, he again came to blows with his brother Cyclops. During the battle, Havok and Cyclops fell from a plane with Havok apparently leaving his brother to fall to his death. Cyclops however was saved by a teammate. X-Factor in Ruins No Caption Provided However, Havok didn't truly become a terrorist. His fall from grace was merely a ruse to allow him to get closer to the Dark Beast so he could stop that mutant's sinister plans. Following the defeat of the Dark Beast, Havok reconvened new and old members of X-Factor, including his estranged lover, Polaris, in a bid to relaunch the team without the government. Havok announced a plan to take the team mainstream. Rather than fighting the good fight in the shadows and only entering the spotlight to be blamed for some manner of catastrophe, the new X-Factor would be proactive and high profile with members going after the type of enemies that typically battle the Avengers and Fantastic Four. Public victories would hopefully gain the good will of the public that had long distrusted the burgeoning mutant population. The plan was received skeptically by the others. Whether such a plan would have worked is unknown, as Greystone (a previous ally of Havok's from the Brotherhood) set in motion a plan that was meant to lead to Havok's death. Greystone was suffering from an increasing madness, his mind fixated on building a machine capable of returning him to a future from which he had come. However, the time machine he'd created was in reality a giant bomb. As Havok fought with Greystone to stop him from activating the time machine, the machine broke. Seemingly, both men were killed as Polaris and the rest of X-Factor looked on in horror. Mutant X Mutant X Mutant X While Havok's body was recovered, but seemingly comatose, his soul was sent into a nexus between realities where it connected with the body of an alternate version of himself. On Earth-1298, Havok had died, but his empty, soulless body was filled with the consciousness of Havok from Earth-616. Havok woke up to a world where he was the leader of the mutant hero team, the Six. The Mutant X universe was a twisted up version of the world he knew. Although he worked closely with many counterparts of the X-Men he had previously known, they were all darker and distorted. Leading the Six, Havok had many adventures. He learned his body was a nexus point for all of the Alex Summerses from across all realities. Havok was killed shortly after learning this, saving the world. At the same time his mind and body returning to the same multidimensional ether from which he had entered the Mutant X universe. Havok was restored to his own unconscious body back on Earth-616. Troubled Love-Life Alex was later discovered in a hospital in the regular 616 universe in a comatose state. His mind eventually returned to its body with the help of the young telepath Carter Ghazikhanian, son of the X-Men's school nurse Annie, who had cared for him. Havok rejoined the X-Men, serving as a team leader. During the undefined time Havok was gone, times were tough on the X-Men and Havok's former lover Lorna Danes in particular. X-Factor fell apart. Polaris learned her true father was the mutant terrorist Magneto, and briefly served him as a deputy on his fiefdom of Genosha. During all of this, Polaris had refused to believe Havok was truly dead. Seizing the moment, Lorna asked him to marry her. Somewhat shocked at such a life-altering question so soon after his return, Alex faltered over a reply but his assembled friends and family made the decision for him. However, Alex had fallen in love with Annie, and called off his wedding as Lorna was walking up the aisle. Lorna snapped and attempted to kill both Alex and his newfound love, but she was stopped by Alex's teammate, the Juggernaut. Exiles Soon after, the alternate-reality Havok's personality resurfaced within Alex, having followed Alex's consciousness back from within the void in which he had been trapped. The team of dimension-hopping mutants known as the Exiles were charged with the task of stopping the evil Havok, and they teamed up with the X-Men to prevent him from killing Carter. The evil consciousness was eventually forced out of Alex's body and sent back into the void, where it was destroyed by the Exiles' taskmaster, the enigmatic being known as the Timebroker. Following the Scarlet Witch's alteration of reality, many mutants were left powerless, including Polaris. During the same time, Havok's lover Annie Ghazikhanian decided to leave the school with her son in tow due to the multiple attacks the Xavier's school had faced. After the breakup, Havok grew closer to Polaris and when Danes chose to leave the X-Men Havok accompanied her. During an encounter with the creature called Doop, Polaris was abducted by Apocalypse and Havok returned to the X-Men. After the battle with Apocalypse Wolverine discovered that one of his knocked-out horsemen was actually Polaris. As her esophagus closed down, Havok administered CPR to save her life, but was infected with the meta-plague she was carrying. Emma Frost managed to save the stricken Havok using some of Apocalypse's blood which was an antidote to the plague. Starjammers Starjammers Starjammers After the death of Corsair, the father of Cyclops, Havok and Vulcan, the Starjammers were left without a leader. The team was further shaken when member Hepzibah, a Starjammer, returned to Earth, with the X-Men. Havok decides to stay behind and assume command of the team that his father lead for many years. Lead by Havok, the new Starjammers now consists of Polaris, Marvel Girl, Korvus, Raza and Ch'od. With the new team a new mission was set forth. At all cost they worked to return Lilandra, the former Shi'ar Queen to her throne and defeat Vulcan who had become the emperor of the Shi'ar after his marriage with Deathbird. Havok took the Starjammers and began leading rebel raids against the forces of the Shi'ar, as his father had before him. Their raids were extremely successful because of the defections that plagued the Shi'ar Empire, who were unhappy with a non-Shi'ar as emperor. which eventually became a full-fledged civil war. Havok and his forces commenced a raid on the loyalist-stronghold of Feather's Edge. Vulcan had discovered plans for the raid, and were waiting in ambush. A battle ensued . Just as the battle was turning in Vulcan's favor, his flagship Hammer is destroyed by the forces of the Scy`ar Tal, which means "Death to the Shi'ar" in the Shi'ar language. Vulcan and Gladiator are both easily defeated by the Scy'ar Tal's leader, called the Eldest. Havok has Marvel Girl scan the assailants to learn more about them, and discovers their history with both the Shi'ar and the Mkarran crystal. As Havok and his team looked on the Scy'ar Tal loosed their greatest weapon, Finality, which transported a star into the planets orbit, destroying it completely. Havok vs. Vulcan Havok vs. Vulcan In response to this change of events, Vulcan elected to sue for peace with Havok and work together to defeat the threat. Though Havok and his team knew they would eventually be betrayed, they joined forces with the new Emperor. Calling a cease fire to the current civil war to deal with this new threat, a decision that threatened to have horrible ramifications for Vulcan's leadership. Something that Havok and his allies hoped to use to their advantage after the conflict was settled. Havok then worked with Lilandra, her uncle Ka'ardum and Vulcan to devise a plan. While Lilandra worked with her uncle and the Shi'ar forces to confront and distract the Scy'ar Tal armada, Havok and his brother would lead their people on a secret mission to Fatality. As Lilandra and her uncle Ka'ardum led their forces against the Scy'ar Tal, the attack on finality began. Leaving Polaris in charge of the Starjammers Havok went with Vulcan to board and attempt to destroy Finality. Working with his younger brother, Havok had no trouble boarding the station. The two fought their way to the main deck with minimal trouble, even having time to argue their differing philosophies, and were in the process of making their way to the station's core when the Eldest arrived. As they fought against him, they realized they were outmatched. Yet another difference between the brother's was shown as they reacted to the situation, while Havok ordered his crew to stay away, Vulcan demanded the Imperial Guard come to defend him. The Guard's reinforcements allowed the two Summer's brothers time to catch their breath, and regain their strength. They leapt back in to battle and following Havok's instructions, worked in concert with Gladiator to put the Eldest down. As the Eldest began to regain strength and ready himself for a second round, Havok was able to decipher the source of his power and direct Vulcan how to disrupt it. Having defeated the Eldest, Vulcan begins killing the other Scy'ar Tul and Havok attempts to stop him. Using his power Vulcan blasts his older brother out of the station and into one of the nearby stars. Thinking him dead Vulcan ordered the Fatality used against it's creators and sent the Imperial Guard to deal with the rest of the Starjammers. Just as he began to savor his victory, Havok blasted him, rising from the star back to the station itself. Havok's powers were pushed to their upper limits after absorbing energy from the heart of the star, and he wastes no time in attacking his brother. Vulcan is surprised to find that Havok is able to challenge him on equal standing now, and that his powers now affect him easily. The two battled aboard the station, neither brother holding back. Havok managed to defeat Vulcan, and just as he prepared to deal the killing blow, the Imperial Guard teleported in with the unconscious Starjammers. Vulcan's wife, Deathbird, gave him an ultimatum, release her husband or watch his teammates be killed. After listening to a message from Lorna relayed from Ch'od, Alex made his decision. Unleashing his power he blasts the station in two, destroying it. Vulcan orders all present ported out and Havok ends up a prisoner of the Shi'ar along with the rest of the Starjammers. Kingbreaker/War of Kings Held captive Held captive Havok remained a prisoner in Shi'ar custody. Vulcan, meanwhile, leads the Shi'ar to new conquests across the universe while amusing himself with the torture of his brother Havok and the captured Starjammers which included Raza, Ch'od and Polaris. In an effort to break him Vulcan would proceed to tell Havok that his team was dead putting the blame on him. In these moments Havok would be seen suffering at the thought of failing his team but he would not give in. Several weeks had passed and due to the location of his prison Havok had not been able to absorb large amounts of energy. All he could muster was enough to to ignite his left hand which he strategically and patiently waited to use in the most opportune moment. As the Shi'ar guards slid a meal into his cell Havok used that time to strike. He blasted the door with his remaining energy and used his hand to hand ability to break free, taking out a number of guards in the process. He continued through the prison and was able to locate the rest of his captive team and release them as well. At this point the other alien prisoners that were locked up also escape and begin terrorizing the torturers. Havok claims the he is powerless and Raza suggests that they "do it the old fashioned way". Together the Starjammers in the prison begin to fight the other convicts as ordered by their leader Havok who told them to try and spare their live if they could. When it was all said and don't the convicts were defeated and the Starjammers in the prison were joined by Korvus and Lilandra who came to help them escape. Unbeknown to them Havok had other plans and did not want to flee. The group was then surprised when The New Imperial Guard showed up and began to battle them. For the most part Havok held his own but his teammates notably Raza and Polaris were not as lucky. To make matters even worse Vulcan and The Old Imperial Guard teleport in after gaining knowledge of Havok's escape and made the bold statement by saying he was "going to kill them". Havok was caught off guard by Gladiator as Vulcan ordered him to kill him. When Gladiator launched himself at his cousin, Havok was left free to act. He drew Vulcan's attention and while dodging his energy blasts argued against his philosophy. When Lorna made her presence known and Vulcan launched himself to assault her, Alex was as surprised as everyone else when Rachel and the Hodinn blasted their way into the prison. While Lorna help up the ceiling, Alex took advantage of the situation. Absorbing the energy of the living star for his own, Havok turned to face his brother. Cutting loose, Havok blasted Vulcan easily cutting through his armor. Havok attack his brother viciously and was able to easily overpower him. Havok was momentarily distracted by a burst of energy from Racheal and Korvus as the Phoenix Force fled them to return to Earth. As their battle continued Alex and Gabriel argued over their philosophy, with Alex explaining that they could have forgiven him originally but he had crossed the line with their father's murder. No Caption Provided Just as Havok was preparing the killing blow, Lillandra teleported the team back to the ship. Furious Alex argued for returning to finish the job before the finality of the situation set in. Havok and the Starjammers jumped away from the Vulcan's armada to safety. Over the next 6 cycles Havok and his team ran from their pursuers. Alex questioned his niece and Korvus about the events surrounding the Phoenix Force as they took stock of their situation. As he once more argued with Lillandra over her decisions, she put forth the suggestion to enter Kree space. After they decided to attend the wedding of Ronan and Crystal the Starjammers took off. With Shi'ar in hot pursuit they raced towards the Kree space boarder attempting to contact the empire. While Alex had no luck getting a response, Lorna did. While they Kree opened their shields to allow them, they didn't for the Shi'ar. Upon reaching Hala, Alex worked on the ship while Lilandra and Lorna met with members of the Inhumans. Alex attended the wedding along with the rest of the team. Watching as Black Bolt walked Crystal down the aisle, he was as surprised as everyone else by the arrival of the Imperial Guard. Alex was infuriated by his brother's actions. Complaining to Lorna about his brother he went about helping with the defense. Havok worked hard to help protect the civilians against the Guard. When they took Lilandra he was busy fighting a few of them off. When they teleported out it was Korvus who informed him of Lillandra's capture. Dealing with Lillandra's loss, Havok offered to work together with the Inhumans in the war effort, though he requested assistance in finding Lillandra. Black Bolt and Medusa agreed and with there help Alex came up with a plan that would not only strike a blow against his brother, but also help him to locate his missing empress. Taking the Starjammers into the Ehn-Fol system on the Kree Frontier he and his crew tempted a Shi'ar vessel into a chase. After isolating their enemy, Havok had them cut systems and allow Lorna to magnetically attack the two ships. Popping the hatch Havok let loose a blast of plasma, both blowing an opening into the enemy ship and damaging their Gravity Generators. He then deposited a squad of the Inhuman Elites Zero-G combat groups led by Triton. They were able to hack into the ships systems and locate Lillandra. With that information at his disposal Havok prepared to plan his next move. Realm of Kings Havok and the other Starjammers played a minor part during the Realm of Kings war, in witch Havok's brother Vulcan and his Shi'ar Empire attacked the Kree Empire, at the time led by the Inhumans. Havok and Polaris had joined the Kree empire in hope of winning them for their cause against Vulcan. Vulcan however attacked the Kree home-planet before any military actions had been taken by the Kree. Havok, Polaris, Rachel and Korvus teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in hope of defeating Vulcan and his army. The battle eventually let to the seeming death of both kings of the empires, Vulcan and Black Bolt. X-Men Legacy After the battle, the team again took of in space. After the incident where Rachel and Korvus both lost the connection to the Phoenix Force, Havok, Polaris, Rachel and Korvus managed to contact the X-men back home. This was broadcasted to the X-men Rogue, whom undertook a mission alongside Gambit, Magneto and Frenzy to finally return the long lost X-men to earth. Although this was more difficult then thought of because the base the lost X-men found themselves in was about to orbit into a sun. They luckily managed to escape and eventually return to earth. Regenesis and a Return to X-Factor No Caption Provided Following the X-Men Schism and Regenesis, Havok, Polaris and Rachel have sided with Wolverine. Wolverine has since taken Havok and Polaris to rejoin their former team X-Factor where Havok briefly becomes the leader of the group when it was thought that Jamie Madrox, the former leader, had died. Jamie however was revealed to be alive and soon took on his role as leader again, with Havok becoming co-leader. This however brought troubles along because of the conflicting ways of leadership. Eventually Havok realized he had to leave the group. Although he wanted Lorna to come with him, she refused, thinking it good to stay. The two agreed that it could also be good for them to spent time alone, to get in touch with themselves again after the long time in space. It is then that Havok decides to leave X-Factor again, wishing Lorna the best. Avenger Unity Squad Leader Havok with the Avengers Havok with the Avengers Following his leave from X-Factor, Havok visited his brother Cyclops, whom was apprehended after the events of Avengers vs. X-Men. After his visit, he was contacted by Captain America, whom wanted him to join the newest Avengers team, a team that was supposed to become a hybrid of Avenger and X-Men members, named the Uncanny Avengers. Havok accepted the offer after the team's first battle with the Red Skull. During his time with the team, he entered into a romantic relationship with the Janet Van Dyne, the Wasp. This came to a head when Eimon and Uriel, the children of Archangel, destroyed the Earth while creating a new world,Planet X. Though Planet X was a paradise for mutants, Havok and Wasp sought a way to return to the past so that they could undo the destruction of Earth. They eventually succeed, but lose Katie, the child they conceived on Planet X, to Kang. These waves will emanate from his body in all directions unless he purposefully tries to channel them in a single direction, usually along the length of his arms. This results in control over an extremely powerful sort of destructive force. He is immune to the adverse effects of most forms of radiation and heat. In the past, he was not entirely able to control this ability, which made him a danger to those around him unless he wore a special containment suit equipped with special sensors for measuring and controlling his power output. Havok is immune to his own powers and to those of his brother Scott. He is resistant but not immune to Vulcan's powers. Plasma Blasts Plasma Blasts Despite past accounts, the energy that Havok releases is not truly a concussive force (though he is able to displace air molecules to create concussive forces). When Havok strikes an object with the waves of intensity of hot plasma, the sudden vast jump in temperature will often cause objects to shatter, explode or disintegrate and an observer might therefore wrongly think that the object had been struck by a concussive force. Should Havok direct his energy at the lowest level, he can project it towards a human being and his target will suffer a severe headache, but will not burn up. He can absorb cosmic energies from his environment (such as starlight, x-rays, and gamma radiation) and store them within his body cells, metabolizing the energy in order to generate plasma wave discharges that super-heat and disintegrate objects or create concussion bursts by violently displacing air molecules in his path. His absorption is normally passive, but he has shown that he can actively drain and absorb energy as well. He also seems to have gained the ability to fly and survive unaided in vacuum, as seen when Vulcan throws him towards a sun he is wearing breathing equipment, but on his return the helmet is off. Although one could argue, that since he is usually depicted with plasma spheres surrounding his body when using his powers he never actually needed anything resembling "normal" air. Power Regulators Power Regulators Havok's body is constantly in the process of absorbing cosmic radiation. When each of his body's power-storage cell enclaves reaches its capacity, excess energy is thereafter absorbed and immediately re-emitted in negligible quantities. The circle on his chest is an indicator as to how much energy he has left. Upon the total expenditure of all his available energy, it takes Havok's body about 16.5 hours to recharge to its peak level. The act of concentration involved in releasing his energy in anything other than an omnidirectional wave is physically exhausting for Havok if he continues it over an extended period of time. Havok possesses the normal human strength of a man his age, height and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. Havok is also well-educated in the field of geophysical science where he has earned a masters degree and completed some doctoral work, and he has been trained in hand-to-hand combat and martial arts by Wolverine. He is an instinctive tactician and strategist. It was also revealed, in the Mutant X and Exiles books that his body and mind were a nexus for all other Alex Summers in every other reality, and therefore his very existence was a sort of 'back door' to the others. This revelation caused the problem in the Uncanny X-Men and Exiles crossover. Not much more is known about his multidimensional status and has yet to be explored further. Other Versions Earth-295 Age of Apocalypse Earth-295 Age of Apoclypse Earth-295 Age of Apoclypse Instead of being separated in the orphanage, both Havok and Cyclops were adopted by Mr. Sinister. They were raised together as the cream of the New Mutant Aristocracy in Apocalypse's America. They both rose to the rank of Prelate and each of them wanted to please their adopted father. However, Havok became more insecure towards Cyclops, whom he felt was Sinister's favorite son. Havok and Cyclops were reunited with their real father Christopher Summers, however they discovered that he was transforming into the new brood Queen. Cyclops felt that he had no choice, and therefore used his mutant powers to kill him. Havok believed that his death wasn't the only option, thus creating a deeper rift between the brothers. Earth-295 Age of Apoclypse Earth-295 Age of Apoclypse During his down-time, Havok was a regular in Angel's club, Heaven. There he had fallen in love with the human singer and entertainer, Scarlett. However, he was arrogant, desiring power. Scarlett was arrested after she discovered she was pregnant with Havok's illegal love-child. Havok later discovered that Cyclops was still in love with Jean Grey and that connection with her convinced Cyclops to free other prisoners and Sinister's experiments. In an unhappy relationship with his brother, Havok considered Cyclops as a traitor. During an incident, Havok was the one who made Cyclops kill Jean Grey unintentionally. This eventually led to Weapon X taking revenge for Jean's death. Earth-1610 Ultimate Universe In the Ultimate universe Havok was field leader of the Academy of Tomorrow. He also had a relationship with Polaris, just as with his main Earth-616 counterpart. However, unlike his other versions he was older than Cyclops and there are lot of issues about the two of them as there were differences to both of them. Earth-1298 Mutant X Mutant X Mutant X In the reality of Earth-1298, Havok's body became inhabited by the consciousness of Havok from the main Earth-616 universe. Havok was accidentally caught in an explosion sending his consciousness into his counterpart's body in Earth-1298. This reality became the focus of the series known as Mutant X, where Havok is the leader of the Six, an alternate reality version of the X-Men. The team consisted of alternate members of the mainstream X-Men, including Havok, Madelyne Pryor, Iceman, The Fallen, the Brute and Bloodstorm. Marvel Zombies Havok was seen infected and was converted into a zombie as he attacked the humans. But for fans who have already devoured—and repeatedly watched—the first three episodes of season two, it was difficult to not notice that abundance of sex scenes featuring Sydney Sweeney. While, yes, the season’s storyline does explain the magnitude of her intimate onscreen moments, it’s still left fans wondering why Sweeney has been sans clothes so frequently within the first three episodes. In an interview with The Independent, Sweeney addressed how it’s felt for her to take part in so many sensitive scenes, providing context for how working on Euphoria has felt more comfortable than previous projects she’s been a part of. “Sam is amazing,” she said, referring directly to Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. “There are moments [in the script] where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here’…. The 24-year-old actor—and car enthusiast—also noted the blatant double standards between male and female actors when it comes to onscreen nudity. “[There’s a] stigma against actresses who get naked onscreen” and that “when a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise, but the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.” Adding to her point, Sweeney goes onto vent her frustrations over how the industry viewed her appearance in the critically acclaimed series The White Lotus. To the industry, her role as Olivia Mossbacher was considered a “breakthrough” performance, despite her incredible work in Euphoria long before. But to Sweeney, she believes that there’s one particular reason why her previous work before The White Lotus is yet to be rightfully recognised. “I’m very proud of my work in Euphoria,” Sweeney said. “I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked. I do The White Lotus and all of a sudden critics are paying attention.” “People are loving me. They’re going, ‘Oh my God, what’s she doing next?’ I was like, ‘Did you not see that in Euphoria? The concept may sound like a sci-fi pitch, but it’s grounded in Einstein’s century-old predictions and updated with cutting-edge theoretical modeling. But despite only having the briefest amount of screen time thanks to her character's plot-activating death in the premiere, actress Matilda De Angelis was an instant, though often nude, stand-out. De Angelis quickly developed Elena's mysterious and provocative influence, and those elements were maintained throughout the six-episode season largely through callbacks and flashbacks honing in on Elena's beauty and sexuality. (In case anyone forgot this was HBO.) As Elena, Matilda De Angelis was a prism of womanhood; as a wife, as a mother to both a school-aged boy and an infant, as a wife in an extramarital relationship, as one arc in a circle of mothers, and so on. That concept held true in some respects even when it came to scenes calling for De Angelis' nudity, which involved her breastfeeding, her to-be-unexplored attraction to Nicole Kidman's Grace, and her sexual relationship with Hugh Grant's Jonathan. Not everyone would be so comfortable putting their full body on display for a marquee TV series, but De Angelis told The Independent she agreed to the role's sporadic nude moments because the series' director, Susanne Bier, was a woman. Given its house-of-cards structuring that relied so heavily on viewers developing suspicions about nearly every character who appeared, The Undoing definitely needed all of its puzzle pieces to work together harmoniously. And had Matilda De Angelis not felt perfectly comfortable with everything the HBO drama asked her to do, that performance possibly wouldn't have been able to properly support the madness surround it, which would have weakened the season's impact right from the start. Here's hoping every future job the actress finds in Hollywood and beyond will be just as agreeable. The Undoing has wrapped up its six-episode season on HBO, with no signs of a second season happening just yet. (Though the miniseries' ratings were probably solid enough to warrant a renewal if the creative team wanted to make it happen.)
