Disney+ is bringing back its secret weapon in April 2026.
For the first time in a year, both Marvel and Star Wars have new releases available only on Disney’s streaming service.
These are “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2, and “Maul: Shadow Lord.” Not only are these expansive new installments growing their respective franchises’ universes, but they’re also highly anticipated.

Episodes four, five, six and seven of “Daredevil: Born Again” drop throughout the month, and see blind superhero Matt Murdock amass powerful forces to contend with Kingpin, who now has an iron grip on New York City.
Over the same time span, eight episodes of “Maul: Shadow Lord” premiere, with two every week. Taking place following The Clone Wars, it centers on iconic Sith Darth Maul as he builds a galactic syndicate and recruits a new apprentice.
Not since April 2025, when “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1 overlapped with “Andor” Season 2, has Disney showcased dual MCU and Star Wars originals.
Before then, it was “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” Season 1 and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” which crossed over in January 2025.

These rare months are always a tour de force on Disney+ as the streamer shows off its unique selling points. Boasting the complete libraries of MCU and Star Wars are undoubted attributes, but continually giving viewers new episodes of both in the same small stretch of time is an undeniable flex.
While the simultaneous output is usually far from common for Disney+, it actually doubles down in the exact same month. That’s because April also sees the release of yet more Marvel offerings.
These are 2021 movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and preschool animated series “Meet Iron Man and His Awesome Friends,” which will also debut on the platform alongside “Maul: Shadow Lord” and “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2.
