This is
so spiritually poignant & meaningful to me. Jesus was
born a man; imagine the dawning terror of realizing the
choice born unto Him exclusively. The trepidation, the fear
of failure, the temptation of rejecting it all in favor of
living a long earthly life & it's enchantments. That He
rejected all that in favor of the pain & uncertainty &
social rejection of revolution so we may enjoy both life here
& hereafter is what makes His sacrifice so meaningful,
and Scorsese's adaptation illustrates His struggle so
beautifully.

Absolutely
blasphemous! Jesus was a courageous man, which he proved by
challenging and openly exposing the hypocrisy of the
religious leaders of his day. Nor was he full of
self-loathing. And like any man, no doubt he was attracted to
women. No doubt he had a sex drive, just like any man.
However he kept it in check, and focused on his mission -
that of being the redeemer for all mankind. "For God so
loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, so that
whosoever believes in Him might not die, but have eternal
life." - John 3:16.
