WHAT IS A SPLASH PAGE IN COMICS? by Ivan Shkuta October 5, 2021 A comic book splash page is a full-page illustration that captures a particular moment in a story. It's been around since the days of newspaper strips, and it can be used in all sorts of ways to tell all kinds of stories. You can't talk about comics without talking about the artists who create them. When you think of comics, many influential comic book artists come to mind. However, one name stands out: Will Eisner. He is the true father of graphic novels. Just look at his splash pages in The Spirit comic book! Splash page is often used for the first or last page of a comic book. The full page shows us the main character, the scene, or some unexpected twist designed to shock us and to keep us on the page, looking at it.
