A former model claims Timothy
Hutton raped her in a hotel room when was 14 years old, but the
actor has denied all allegations.
Sera
Johnston, now 50, told Buzzfeed
News
that she met Hutton in Vancouver in 1983, three years after his
Oscar-winning role in “Ordinary People,” while he was in town
filming “Iceman.”
Hutton,
she claims, invited her and a few friends back to his hotel room
and offered them drinks.
“He
was getting very close to me, like, you know, really kind of
sidling up to me and petting my legs and stuff,” Johnston told
Buzzfeed of the now-59-year-old actor. “I was just, like, ‘I
think this is going to be bad. I was really wrong about this.’”
After
a while, Hutton allegedly led Johnston into his bedroom and was
joined by one of his friends.
Johnston
claims the actor raped her, while his friend allegedly forced oral
sex on her, despite her braces that made it almost impossible.
Hutton,
who starred in the Fox series “Almost Family” until it was
canceled Monday night, “completely and unequivocally denies”
the allegations, his lawyer told Buzzfeed
in a statement, claiming he’s never met Johnston.
He
also accused her of providing “salacious, heinous, and graphic
details of this made-up sexual encounter that supposedly occurred
36 years ago," calling them “disgusting details any smut
fiction writer could conjure up.”
Hutton
claimed that Johnston only reported the alleged rape to police last
year after she backed out of a financial settlement that would have
paid for $135,000 of the $1.5 million she asked for.
