harry knowles: we know about actor's said to have used body doubles for nudity.... what we unfortunately haven't been told is that almost always 98% of the time, male actors use female body doubles for nude scenes with some mild CGI or "doctoring" used to cover up the fact..

... sometimes in fact .. often actually the man is wearing shorts and a female posterior is photoshopped on to him... in the other 2% of cases the images of a naked man and woman are mixed, merged, photo-layered together so they look like a single person.. this is the case of kevin Costner in Dances with Wolves.. who was SO concerned about the impending pedophilia in the media portrayal of native americans that he felt somehow as a father that both genders somehow had to be represented in adult nudity... kevin Costner was furious and mary McDonnell the woman in question was in tears that Mary's individual nude scene where it was evident that she was a nude woman her female character in the movie .. that Mary's individual isolated nude scene had been removed from the movie .. maybe as is usually the culprit during distribution... kevin Costner actually had a lot of feelings about some lesser known native American mythology which talked about the mystical, metaphysical equivalence of men and women and their overlap ... he wanted a lot of mystical imagery in dances with wolves involving the physical, moral and soulful, spiritual overlap of male and female physical spiritual entities...


.. their's a lot of sadness involved with a lot of this but i'll try to clear the air and in any case here's a list I'm putting together of men who've always used female body doubles for nudity in movies...
