DC Universe news updates include tidbits on Justice League, George Miller, Doomsday and more!
There’s lots of DC Universe news today, beginning with a casting call that reveals the production codename for Zack Snyder‘s Justice League. According to Acting-Auditions.org, the project is shooting under the title Caveman and is currently looking for available talent in and around London, England. Interestingly enough, the announcement notes that Mad Max: Fury Road George Miller is attached to produce Justice League. That might be because of the helmer’s previous involvement with the film a decade ago, but it might also hint that we’ll see Miller taking on one of the upcoming DC Universe solo films. Check back here for updates as soon as we know more.Next up in DC Universe news is the reveal that actor Robin Atkin Downes is voicing Doomsday in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor himself broke the news over twitter:
Downes is no stranger to the DC Universe. He lent his voice to multiple DC Comics animated series, animated feature films and video games.
Finally, there are more details on Jesse Eisenberg’s upcoming Lex Luthor, thanks to EW and the star himself.
“He has a kind of charming public persona,” says Eisenberg of Luthor, “and then a deeply private rage. And this is not only interesting as an actor to play, but I would say more realistic to how extroverted people like this, who are kind of leaders of big organizations, probably feel. You have to kind of put on a public front that appears genial and appears accessible, but you’re likely — if you’re very ambitious — harboring feelings of competitiveness, envy, and all these other things we try to avoid in public. So stuff like that was very interesting as an actor to explore. And then kind of coloring in that framework is somebody who’s also very clever and funny and emotional and vengeful.”
Directed by Snyder and written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, joined by Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman.
