Calender man showed up in issue #312 of "Batman"..?..

Welcome to the fourteenth episode of The Overlooked Dark Knight.  The is a non-index index show where the hosts, Andrew Leyland and Michael Bailey, look at Batman comics that rarely, if ever, get talked about.  They mostly stick to the later part of the Bronze Age but just about any era of Batman is fair game for their discussions.
This time out the guys look at two fantastic Batman tales!  First up is Batman #312, where the Dark Knight fights the multi-costumed Calendar Man.  This issue not only features some fantastic action and great writing but also the magnificent art of Walt Simonson.  Batman finally brings the fight to Maxie Zeus during the lead story of Detective Comics #484, which features equally magnificent art by Don Newton.  They also talk about the back-up Batman story from that issue which was…adequate.  House ads are also discussed, including one for Kryptonite, which made Andy laugh so hard milk shot out of his nose.
Okay, that didn’t really happen.  But he laughed really hard.
Below is a gallery of pages from the comics discussed in this episode in case you were curious what they looked like.

And here’s that neat pin-up from the Detective issue.
Next Time: The guys cover Batman #313 and Brave and the Bold #15
