Barr's "Vector Calculus" elicits misdirection, miscommunication from your future self, but it .. their is something about Barr's "Vector Calculus" that is something the movie, "Girl, Interrupted" is not: patient... Barr's text, "Vector Calculus" is patient, you are patient, so patient and you can feel the agony in the patient voice of your future self when he or she tells you things that aren't true, that couldn't be further from future tellings / predictions of what turns out to be such a horrible, horrible mental and emotional present-day present-tense painful truth.. you always wonder why your future self told you things would happen that didn't happen, when your future self would have known already what HAD happened.. that is Barr's "Vector Calculus".. your unintentionally, agonizingly unintentionally misinforming, radically misinforming future self is so reassuring when he gives you instructions on what happens from the future.. and then .. after you find out WHY the horror happened.. why the emotion horror happened.. you feel .. manipulated?.. by your future self.. and Angelina wails like only a woman who believes in her own sin can wail and cry when you feel this.. this is your remake of "Girl, Interrupted", Elizabeth Ryder.. perhaps re-directed again yet again by the same James Mangold...
