... Dostoevsky may have read "The Golden Bowl".. Henry James may have written "The Golden Bowl" before the turn of the century, far before, instead of after... and Dostoevsky, I wager, was so in fascination of the dashing qualities of Prince Amerigo that he Dostoevsky thought of writing a whole novel about Prince Amerigo and did, renaming him, Prince Myshkin, like a Russian translation of his name...

... Prince Amerigo Myshkin is in it seems like he's in ever single chapter of "The Idiot" and is the main character in every single chapter of "The Idiot", except for the chapter's which tell the autobiography of Ippolit... Perhaps Ippolit who seems to see the Cancer-god in his dreams, the Cancer-god who showed up a century later in Gail Simone's third issue of "the All-new atom".. perhaps this Ippolit saw what Adam Verver who I believe was Henry James senior, what Henry James's father may have seen or sensed when he sensed the presence of.. evil?.. of evil for three hours in his room.. or was it the presence of heavy sickness for three hours in his room.. or a mixture of both?...

.. and this cancer-god may have plagued Maggie Verver, this cancer-god may have plagued Natalya, the self-tortured anti-heroine of "The Idiot", she may very well be the other character who is the titular "Idiot" of the title of the book.. or at least as she feels like one.. the woman Natalya who has pride in herself as a psychosis and is haughty to servants of which she considers Prince Amerigo Myshkin one when she first meets him at the door of Gavril's house, she think's Prince Amerigo Myshkin is a doorman.. no prince... a character who may have been Fomich in "Crime and Punishment" tell his friend Prince Myshkin late in the book that their is no way to account for the sheer force of ego of this woman Natalya, for her ferocious egotism, like it's a power unto itself.. that Prince Myshkin can no longer be patient with it... but Aglaia, the ultra-bratty daughter of the pernicious Madame Epanchine and Prince Amerigo Myshkin's other girlfriend, Aglaia was simply Dostoevsky's anticipation of Uma Thurman's portrayal of Charlotte in the Merchant-Ivory film of "The Golden Bowl" and Aglaia is little else but that in the book... Uma Thurman IS playing her Aglaia in the movie version of "The Idiot", but we will all want to see what Claire Danes does with the role when she plays it sharing the role with Uma Thurman and also playing the role separately from her in other film version...
