UPDATE (Feb. 16, 1 p.m.): Police have identified the injured man who walked away from Surrey Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Leslie Stapleton, 54, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.
EARLIER: Surrey police are asking the public for help in finding an injured man who walked away from Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The man was last seen around 1:20 p.m. Monday at the hospital wearing a white hospital gown. He had been brought in by ambulance after he was found with “significant injuries,” including visible facial injuries.
Police and hospital staff are concerned for the man’s well-being as he may have left hospital unaware of his medical situation.
The man is described as caucasian, 45 to 60 years old, 5 foot 10 inches, 180 pounds, with a medium build and very short grey hair. He has a tattoo reading “Never surrender” on the right front side of his neck.
