The Claude Rains version is excellent and worth seeking out. It's a favorite of mine.

You know. I understand and respect her choices. I don't know if I could make those same ones (although I had a lumpectomy at 16, then pulled my stitches out- I put up a Christmas tree post surgery. Yeah, you're not supposed to do that. Leftie has a big scar.). That said, I think she is too skinny. She is literally skin and bones and I'd be afraid to take care of her as a patient because she's so skinny. I worry about her. I have this desire to feed her.

The Universal Monsters crossover idea was probably the FIRST of its kind. It's a pity they now think they need to make everybody superheroes for it to succeed.

Shared universes!
Like the Amazing Spider-Man Universe!
And the X-men/Fantastic Universe!
And the Transformers/GI Joe universe!
And... You get the idea. They all went to shit

Agreed.....but at the same time, it's a great idea! They're just bungling it. I mean this is the original shared universe. Just because it's a shared universe though doesn't mean your characters need to be super-heroes.

It could be a good idea if Universal could capture a modern Monster Squad type of vibe, but I don't hold out much hope. Personally I reckon we'll probably get something more like the amazingly bad Van Helsing set in modern times. That's one thing the classic Universal Monsters had, a sense of humor.
Btw, that great idea, the first crossover was in 1943's Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman...and the Mummy was never in that continuity (either of them). Nor was the Invisible Man part of that storyline. Are they planning on bringing back the Gillman too? You can see their "Avengers" movie ending up overstuffed with characters shoehorned in willy nilly
