Batman spends the movie feeling he has wronged children. Because.. he.. became .. a bat?.. And.. because.. he.. cultivated.. a sense.. of mystery?.. And.. a sense.. of mystery … in a man.. harms children?.. When men are mysterious they harm children?.. Batman wondered why he had ever become Batman. Bruce Wayne was a nice name.. Bruce Wayne was a capital name. The Batman thing was a waste of time. And it took something from Gotham. And what if it didn't give it back. Bruce Wayne could easily be a contributing member of Gotham city. But how could Batman contribute. A being in the shadows? This was Machiavelli, not philanthropy. Not helping the common good. And certainly not helping children. What was this playing at being in the shadows. Playing at becoming a shadow yourself. You pretended you were a shadow? Like an owl. Who saw a shadow and wanted to change place. Baudelaire. A poem of his. In Fleurs de mal. Flowers of evil. Gotham was a flower of evil. This was a truism Batman .. Bruce.. no.. Batman.. only Batman could say this was a truism of Gotham, that Gotham was a flower of evil. Bruce Wayne could not say such words.. They were not his to say because he was a person. And Batman was myth. And Myth could speak words persons could not. Was that why he had become Batman? So he could speak?...

Macbeth. Batman had desired to become Macbeth and so had changed his name to Batman. Batman was a synonym for Macbeth. Batman was to live his life like a snuff'd out candle, and Batman was a person who could think of tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow.. And think of these tomorrows as a Riemann sequence. Think mathematically of tomorrows. Batman could think math. Batman could think math as a realm of pure forms. Batman could think Plato. That is why he .. Bruce.. was Batman. Macbeth was considered historically to have been a good king of Scotland. Mary, queen of Scots had spent time as a prisoner, reputed to have been reluctantly imprisoned by Queen Elizabeth the.. first?.. Wasn't their another Queen Elizabeth before her?. Right after the War of the Roses. Batman wondered if he could learn from Mary, Queen of Scots how to be a prisoner. The Batcave he may have arranged it to resemble a prison so he could adapt but the Batcave refused to be a prison and was a home of technology instead without being one of those Soviet Gulags with accessible technology for the prisoners. The Batcave was so underground it could not at all be a prison. But the underground existance was so Bruce Wayne and his life that his identity crisis as Bruce Wayne – Batman was a neat divide of charming, pleasant, diversionary conveniance in the Batcave. A neat divide was all Batman Bruce Wayne asked for from life at the moment. Did the Saint Luke Jesus Christ speak of division rather than of a sword because he thought you could revolutionize society by a diplomatic, conveniant act of division, even if said division was a cleavage and schism and division of families? Of turning family members against each other and therefore revolutionizing society from the ground up. Doing a true revolution, Christ's revolution. What was Macbeth's tyranny. If Christ was destined to bring revolution and Macbeth was destined to bring tyranny. Then what was so neat about a division in Batman's soul and consciousness which reconciled the two, revolution and tyranny, Christ and Macbeth, both Batman. A single man. Saint Matthews Jesus Christ said he was not come to bring peace, it should not be thought he was come to bring peace, but rather a sword. But superhero's or superheroine's in comics used swords. Red Sonja used a sword. Red Sonja was a she-devil with a sword. Something about that name Sonja. Was it the name of a Sword. The Magda was a she-devil And Gotham was the Magda. A mystical union of metaphor and symbol was Gotham. And Batman or Bruce Wayne could navigate in this metaphor and symbol geography. Bruce Wayne was ready to meet his competance in the business world. And Batman was ready to represent Bruce Wayne's time of sleep. Macbeth shall sleep no more. But as long as Bruce Wayne was Batman he was sleeping and his time as Batman counted as his sleep. So Bruce Wayne was always wakeful at business.
