The site notes sources close to the production have revealed to them one of the four replicants from the original Blade Runner will be returning in the sequel. The character from the original film is set to come back thanks to the advancements in CG that have allowed for the likes of the return of Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One and the younger Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator Genisys. The question remains though, which of the four replicants will it be?The options for which character will return include Rutger Hauer’s Roy Batty, Daryl Hannah’s Pris, Sean Young’s Rachael, or maybe even Harrison Ford himself as a young Deckard. You may recall that director Denis Villeneuve previously teased how the long-running debate of Deckard’s true identity would be handled in the sequel, reassuring fans that he would “take care of” the mystery. Could we be seeing an instance where Harrison Ford returns as both the older, real Deckard in addition to the younger, Replicant Deckard for the sequel? Allowing fans of both sides of the theory to feel satisfied that their viewpoint on the original film remains intact? It remains to be seen, but sound off with your thoughts in the comments below! Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. Blade Runner 2049, coming to theaters on October 6, 2017, also stars Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.
