Lex Luthor: ..".. Lex Luthor is at the computer.. talking to himself.. but he's actually talking to his imaginary friend, Eve"....".. Lex Luthor says.."...".. I just figured something out.. when you buy a book .. thru credit.. thru a credit card.. at a bookstore or thru the internet.. thru alibris or addall.. you make a contract with a company with the purchase.. every single book you choose... every single book you uniquely choose.. for the content of the book or because of the title or because of the visual of the cover of the book.. each choice of a book to purchase thru credit.. is a contract with a particular company.. each book a company.. each company a book... the company in question associated, affiliated, with the particular book you bought.. that company has your name in their business files.. and the people at that company see your name and think, ..".. hey yeah.. we'll do business with that person.."... it's like.. a book is also like an investment with a corporation.. the contract to buy that book.. I have some more thoughts on that subject that I'll return to later...
Lex Luthor: ..".. the thing about libraries is that.. I don't believe when you borrow a book from a library that any contract with a company, with a particular company, with any company.. is made.. it's like a free book in the sense that you are free or "free" of a contract with a company associated with each particular book you borrow whatsoever..
Lex Luthor: .. ".. I don't like what happened with Libraries.. neither did Charles Dickens, I surmise.. who was heavily involved in copyright and may have had a lot to do with the invention of libraries to invent an institution that didn't involve an investment or a contract with a particular book that you came to own.. thru a purchase.. money is contract.. money is contract.. their is no contract with a free book from a library.. Charles Dickens intended this.. it didn't happen.. remotely .. the way he'd intended...
Lex Luthor: ..".. finally.. Eve.. their are books you purchase, particular books, that are associations by contract with particular companies.. that are not so good.. companies that have a bad, maybe a very, very bad effect on your life.. it's all in how you choose the books you buy... it's like a science or an art.. the choosing of the book you buy..."
